Pros: Tons of fast storage in a tiny package. Was a phenomenal upgrade to my wife’s Asus ROG laptop which only came with 512gb. Cons: Lasted 5 months before refusing to boot, or even be able to reformat for that matter. Overall Review: Currently in RMA process directly through WD. This is the first WD drive I’ve EVER had fail on me, which is why I chose this drive in the first place. But I’m willing to give them another shot so long as WD holds up on their 5-year warranty through the RMA process. To only be 5 months old, it has to be a manufacturing defect in the unit I received, it happens. I’m not about to swear off WD though. 1 out of the countless drives I’ve purchased over the last 20 years or so isn’t bad odds! The laptop it was installed into would stick in a Windows Recovery boot loop and then just lock up. Even the BIOS had a hard time starting up with the drive installed; sometimes the BIOS simply refused the start, other times it would start and load the BIOS and would recognize and show the drive installed but refused to boot to it. Trying to reformat and reinstall a fresh Windows 10 install, the drive would show 10-15 partitions, all of varying sizes, and would refuse to delete or reformat any of them. Popping it into a dock yielded the same results. As soon as the drive was removed, the laptop booted into BIOS without issues every time. I tossed in a smaller drive, in the same slot in the same laptop, and was able to install Windows onto it with no issues whatsoever.

SN770 freezes on occasions for no apparent reason. The freeze last for about 30 seconds and seems to kick in after 30 hours of run time.. The Western Digital disk tool indicates the SSD is fine but this is obviously wrong. Overall Review: Would not recommend this product if you are upgading a Dell Alienware Aurora R13.

Pros: The drive was fast and I had good luck with the WD Black HDD’s in the past. Cons: After 7 days in a new build,After installing programs and moving data from my old computer, hours of work. I get the message that the drive is about to fail. please back up data.
Started making a system image to a USB drive, got almost to the end. “back up failed”
tried again and halfway through system crashed and would not reboot. Overall Review: Thank the stars for Newegg. they issued an RMA right away and paid the return shipping.
Got my replacement within days!
I don’t think too many people have the troubles I had with this nvme, but I think I won’t buy another.I bought another brand to put my operating system on and will use the replacement to store steam games.
Over all BUY FROM NEWEGG they look after you.

Pros: This drive allows almost instant boot on an i7 14700 pc with Windows. Fast also with games, all under normal situations. Cons: But come a Windows update and whooaaa… PC can freeze for a very long time. I almost miss my spinning disks, they were slower but they worked!
I think SSD are good but just not there yet. And yes, I should have gone with the better Black 850X… Maybe… Overall Review: I would stay away from this model and opt for the 850X or better when on sale. This is really good for secondary device…
