I switched from satellite tv (Shaw) to fiber tv (from Bell) because I was sick and tired of having to remove snow from the satellite dish and with bad weather almost no reception lately. With the switch came much higher Internet speed. I had to throw out my modem to replace it with a new fiber modem. My old Internet speed (wired with Ethernet cable) gave me only 12 & 6 Mb/s but this new modem did not have the wired Ethernet option, only Wifi 5G. My computer came with a USB Wifi adapter but I still got only 12 & 6 Mb/s (on Ookla and such) So I bought this Wifi adapter. Now, my office computer is like 40 feet away with several brick walls inbetween and I got on Ookla and such 14 & 6 Mb/s. It was hard to believe so I downloaded the same movie TWICE, first with the old Wifi adapter and then with this new adapter. This new adapter downloaded this movie 3 – 4 times as fast….So I did a search on different speed test results and I will not bore you with that but the most reliable speed test you can get on “Cloudflare” and “Openspeedtest” These two gave me an average of 122 & 100 Mb/s and I am happy with that.

Tried this one (TXE70UH) after failing to get the TXE50UH working on a brand new Win11 install. Tried multiple computers, drivers, USB ports, etc.
2.4GHz is fine for both but 5GHz either won’t connect or if it does is slower than 2.4GHz and the ping is crazy high. Maybe my router is in unsupported channels but there is no documentation online or in the box from TP-Link.

As of today I give it a 5 star review.
My current ISP is 50 down and 10 up. I have done several speed tests from several locations planet wide using the 5G end.
My best speeds were 49.68 down and 10.17 up with just a 6 ping. Which is pretty well max for my isp and I am very pleased with it. Worst was 36 down and 8.8 up with a 48 ping, which was still better than I had with my old usb dongle.
So I will update this later after I have used it for a few months. Hopefully it will keep working at this level of performance.
So at this time I will say, very well priced and works to and above expectations for wifi.
It is a good buy.

I’ve used it only for a couple of days, but so far it works right out of the box. I’m in a basement with concrete walls and the closest access point is across the hall, in another room. Signal was originally one bar, at most two. With this antenna dongle it’s almost full power. I’ve used other TP-link products and they usually work as advertised. I simply plugged the antenna to a USB A port on my laptop and I didn’t have to do any setup. My connection and the apps I use are working at normal speed and they are really stable – no lag or timeouts due to poor signal strength anymore. I’ll do an update after a couple of months using it.

Good thing is its universality, plug it on Windows or Linux, works right away, no drivers needed.
