I’m sure they’re great if they’re compatible. I did use the online resource to look at wiring and “confirm” my two systems were compatible before I ordered. After hours on my own and then on the phone with support, I find out that they are NOT compatible, after all. One furnace they told me just from the model number. Could have saved me that trouble before I even ordered if that info had been online as part of the check.. The other furnace was NOT on their list of incompatibles, so we went through a lot of testing before the tech finally sent me to the next level of support. Upon hearing the explanation of what was occurring (so like two minutes into him being on the phone), his reply was, “If that’s what it’s doing, it’s incompatible. We’re still finding some and adding to the list.” So three thermostats went back. Get the model number of your equipment and call before ordering to get another level of verification over the online wire check… Hopefully, you don’t fall into the “not on the list, yet” category… OF NOTE – My issue was with Ring. The supplier did a great job of sending and then accepting return of the units.

Install was very easy. This was the first step in preparing for a new HVAC system. Cool that it gives outside air temperature and temps into the rest of the day. Not sure that this is all that beneficial to keeping the house temperature where it is needed, but cool none the less.

I am replacing my old thermostat with this nest thermostat, so far it is working fine, the price is also very good and I can control it when I am not at home

I have really enjoyed having the nest thermostat with smart phone control so far. I’ve had it go off-line a couple times which threw me for a loop but I’ve had it about two months and so far so good. It’s very convenient to be able to turn it up or down from bed using my phone I have mobility issues and I have really appreciated that.

It just works. This is perhaps the 10th (?) Nest device I’ve installed over the years. It works pretty much flawlessly, and takes about 10 minutes to self-install. One of the best features of this Nest (and the 4th generation) is its ability to work with additional (Nest) temperature sensors. In my home, we have a single thermometer to control the entirety of the heat around the house (2 floors), and so if I heat the first floor to the temp at the thermometer, it gets super hot upstairs, especially at night. With the Nest, you can tell it which sensor to pay attention to at 4 different times of the day, so I set it to different sensors based on that.

When I went to register the thermostat I found that the warrantee would expire in three weeks after my purchase. Called Google, the rep told me that the thermostat had been originally registered almost two years ago. Walmart had shipped me a refurbed item. Nothing on Walmart’s website said that it was a refurb.. Called Walmart, the rep was helpful offering to authorize a return and sent be a $10 coupon against future web purchases.. She told me that a third party had shipped the thermostat.
The bottom line is you can’t trust Walmart to ship new items. Not what I expected from Walmart.

So I got this and I programmed it and it was working great cause it turns on and off on my schedule and then it magically because Google or someone told it to change the schedule to what it determined was better for me and it was not and it was a pain in the rear to change it back It did a few weeks later. It decided it didn’t like the schedule that you programmed into it so Google once again changed it so it would heat my house up when it felt like it. It made my bill go up Avoid this at all cost cause it’ll cost you an arm in the leg at the end of the day.

Returned it . This google nest thermostat was advertised as “NEW” but received a used product in a poorly packaged white box.
I have been ordering from online Walmart apps in the past but from now onwards I have to double think . I feel very cheated by Walmart or its Sellers.

Great product! We have had the same type of thermostat downstairs and finally got around to upgrading the upstairs thermostat. We felt the upstairs part of the house get cooler almost immediately!

The thermostat is incredibly easy to use, unobtrusive and responds in an ergonomically friendly way. The companion Nest app makes everything easy and accessible (as well as from the physical dial on the unit). Professionally installed, so I know it’s done right and will last. This unit has a great track record and it’s replacing an old digital thermostat whose time is past. Great to be able to control the unit from away now, if I forget to set when leaving. I think the unit itself knows if no one is around and can set itself into an economy-mode. Nice!
