Ok, ok…. I’m impressed. My Basement gets really damp, especially in the spring and summer, so I needed a dehumidifier because I sometimes get green mildew buildup from it being damp. This unit is the cure for my problem.
First, it’s basically ready to use straight out of the box. Just tighten the handle down and plug it in…thats it.
Its a powerful unit for sure. I put it outbin the garage and left it running for about 45 minutes, and the humidity went from 59 to 52 very quickly. You can feel the air being pulled into this unit, and the out going air blowing out the side with some nice force.
The unit does not have a removal capture bin, but it does hold the water internally. Once its full, it will drain automatically, or…. you can pich the drail button and the water will be pushed out the supplied water hose into your desired draining area.
You can also set a timer for up too 24 hours, adjust the the humidity level all thebway down to 20% and a handful of other functions. Its really easy to use. Not to mention, it looks great and its built very well. I definitely recommend

This HURRIKAN Dehumidifier is definitely commercial quality, commercial grade, and well-designed. Also, for being this powerful it is much quieter than the much smaller, much lighter weight unit that this new appliance is replacing. It is one good piece of machinery! With the many control panel buttons you can choose automatic or manual drain – a small diameter hose is provided, which attaches to the threaded outlet valve on one side. Additional features – such as on/off or timer – are all listed in the handy booklet. An easy-access filter door is on the front inlet grill. The outlet vent is on the side, in addition to the two sturdy handles for easy carrying.

I purchased this machine to replace residential dehumidifiers which would only last between 5 and 18 months. When you first unpackage this machine, it is easy to see that it is a heavy duty “beast” by comparison.The machine is about 50% larger than most residential units. However, the large wheels make it easy to maneuver, including over stairs if you are careful. Since the dehumidifier includes a pump to empty the water, you can leave it and let it run.
