We’ve had two of these systems now in different homes, currently with 3 cameras and adding more soon, and the last with 5. One thing that’s commonly overlooked in the comments is that you DO NOT require the cloud subscription to save videos…that’s only to save them in the CLOUD! The sync module allows you to use USB media (microSD for the XR unit) and the video is stored locally! Pretty reasonable quality video, the night vision is reasonable. Audio certainly works, but honestly not all that well and volume from the unit externally is quite low for an outdoor environment. The build quality has been very good and the units have been very reliable for us spanning 7-8 years now with no major problems. As many have stated customer service can be a challenge, sometimes it’s ok but often not as good as you would like. Battery life using lithium batteries is pretty good as long as you don’t use them to stream video often or crank the recording duration at high quality and the highest settings for IR…things like that. Don’t waste your time using non-lithium batteries…they’ll be drained much faster and cameras in inconvenient mounting positions will need the batteries changed far too frequently, lithium works very well for these cameras. My only other complaint is that many of the features were originally free and included, but have now become subscription or add-on costs…just an unfortunate cash grab on an otherwise great product platform. They do what I want; generally good clear video, configurable motion detection, local storage, phone based remote access via app, real time viewing, Alexa integration and wireless install. Buy them on sale Prime Day or Black Friday and it’s pretty hard to go wrong with these!
