Pros: Inexpensive board with everything a typical computer user needs. If you want bragging rights to having the absolute best of the best, this board is not for you. If you want something that just works, and well, then give this board a try. Cons: Finding all of the settings in bios was a bit difficult at first; had to dig around some of the screens 3 or 4 times before I could find what I was looking for. Granted, I’m not an ASUS bios expert as I usually don’t alter/overclock the settings. Overall Review: Paired this with:
AMD 7600x processor.
AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT.
Crucial (2×16)Gb DDR5 6000 Pro Series 36-38-38-80 kit that was gifted to me and started this upgrade.
Windows 10 Pro 20H2
Gammaxx AG620 dual tower cooler (266w TDP rating). This may be overkill, but I want to limit thermal throttling as much as possible, and it was twenty dollars (new).
Samsung 970 EVO 512gb ssd.
Installed ram, cpu and cooler. Used video card from previous build. Used Artic Silver thermal paste on cpu.
I upgraded the bios from 0305 (came with it) to 3201 (Beta dated 1/16/25) using flashback procedure without turning on the system. Absolutely painless. Booted into bios and set expo 1 setting to take ram from 5200mhz to 6000mhz. I had used SYSPREP (didn’t check the generalize option as it failed everytime I did) before pulling the hard drive out of my old setup (AMD 3700x with Asus Tuf Gaming x570 board and 32gb ddr4 ram), so upon 1st boot I had to click thru some Windows 10 setup questions.
Logged into windows and downloaded all drivers off of the ASUS website. Installed all driver packages and started testing a few games to see if I got any BSODs, which I never did. Everything. Just. Worked. Once I was convinced everything was right, I ran Pillars of Eternity 2 for 16 straight hours (let it run and turned my monitor off). It was still running when I turned the monitor back on, so I shut the game down and went back into the bios to tweak a few things.
I now know the default bios settings are 100% error free, so any new BSODs will be caused by my tweaking.
Turned on PBO and raised the cpu limit by 50mhz to see if anything changed. Lo and behold the max frequency on all of the cores went up exactly 50mhz from 5450mhz to 5500mhz.
I did make one change to the board, and that was to add a 40mmx20mm case fan to the VRM heatsink as the AG620 cooler doesn’t push any air over the board heatsinks. You can see it in the pic, on top of the heatsink that says PRIME on it. This was just one of the fans I have laying around and the quietest of the 40mm ones. I used one screw to hold just one corner of the fan to the heatsink. This should help with the one complaint I see by almost all reviewers: The VRMs run hot. I plan to moderately overclock this cpu and don’t want to take any chance of hurting the mosfets in the VRM.
This is not a top of the line board for extreme over clockers. However, it is a solid board that appears to be rock solid stable at default settings. For the $119.99 I paid for this board, I’ll take it. And I’d buy it again If I could. By the way: FPS in Pillars of Eternity 2 went up almost 45% over the DDR4 and 3700x processor that I came from. Same video card: RX 6650 XT.

Pros: It works, and posts. Price was right Cons: Slow startup and posting. Took so long at the first fire up, I almost thought I had a bad board. Lol
Updated the bios, and some of settings but still pretty slow startup compared to other boards I have used
Not sure why but this board’s Tmpin4 temperature is always high in the 70-90C range, according to Hwmonitor. Even when idling. Overall Review: Not a perfect board but I give it a pass

Pros: This review isn’t just for the ASUS motherboard but for Newegg’s excellent service in general. I assembled my new Ryzen 5 9600X PC with no problems. Newegg had shipped everything (all 7 items) in one box which I think is great. I was so tired of having to track multiple packages from the other places. Plus the package arrived amazingly fast despite the low cost shipping. Cons: None. Overall Review: Not a single thing went wrong with this order or build. All components work together perfectly. I’ve been a Newegg customer for over 20 years and plan to be for another 20.

Pros: Already up to date Overall Review: I had no issues booting up my computer with this motherboard zen5 9600x and some 6400 32gb ram. Worked right out of the box, no horror story here people.

Pros: easy and straight forward install, all the right bits in the right places. bios worked with no need to flash with my ryzen 5 7600x Cons: having issues with my bluetooth headset: even after updating bluetooth drivers and doing some setup stuff involving power settings it will after a while eventually disconnect itself randomly. my last rig this headset would connect right off the bat with no issues.
slight nit pick: backplate was an unfinished metal bit kinda expected a bit more Overall Review: Asus motherboards are always pretty reliable out the box, now if i could just figure out this bluetooth thing.

Pros: Easy to install. BIOS flashed easily to the latest version. Configuring the BIOS was easy. Cons: Ran into an issue during initial setup where the system, for unknown reasons, would not boot with video output to my discrete add-in video card. (It was an NVidia Quadro A2000) Checked the BIOS, and everything was set to use the PCI-Express slot for video, but no matter what I did it would not output video. I even tried a 2nd monitor.
Thankfully I was using a 7600X CPU that had an integrated GPU, so I swapped my monitor cable over to the integrated GPU outputs and then I was able to boot to my flashdrive to install the OS. After the OS was installed, all of a sudden things were working normally via the discrete video card.
The obvious concern here is what if I had had a CPU that did not have an integrated GPU? I would have had to RMA the board. Overall Review: Overall I’d give it 3/5.
