Excellent phone for what it is.

This is a basic phone for voice calls and for text messages.
    Much sturdier than most smartphones.
Heavy duty plastic and lightweight so it should survive most short drops from a pocket or a desk.
    Includes a FM Radio.
    Includes a nice flashlight.
Battery lasts very well and is easy enough to change if you buy a spare one and pre-charge it.

Large text size so easier to read for those with poor vision.
This phone will take two SIM cards and a micro-SD/TF card (up to 128GB).

This phone is excellent for seniors and youth who need a phone for calls and text messages but do not want or need all the online internet stuff on their phone. Large easy to see and use buttons.

This phone is also excellent for travel to countries that want to root through everything on your phone and access your social media. Just move your sim card to this phone when travelling and let them look at the one message from your airline about your flight reservation to their heart’s content.

IP 68 & IP 69K water resistance rating which means you can drop it in the shallow end of the pool and then rinse it off. It should just work. Even better, it can be dropped in a hot bathtub or left in a steam room and survive as well.

NOTE: There is NO WIFI on this phone. <–
This phone thankfully still has a regular 3.5mm barrel jack for an audio headset/earbuds.
    Bluetooth enabled for wireless earbuds/headset.
    Charging by USB C.
Listen to Radio or load music on your memory card and play via the device.
NOTE: There is NO STREAMING music from the internet on this device.

Excellent value for a classic talk and text phone that has Bluetooth for audio earbuds/headphones.

The phone is light and plastic. I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as rugged, but maybe it’s some strong plastic that can withstand falls. That one is up in the air for me.

I keep getting this error message popping up “Warning – Dial Failed”. I’ve restarted the phone, but it persists. It popups up every 10-30 seconds while I’m using the phone, or even when I’m not doing anything on the phone. And I have full reception, can send texts, etc. So it’s a nonsense error message that keeps bothering me. I’m using a prepaid SIM on it. You may or may not run into this, but it makes the phone basically unusable for me.

Assuming you don’t have the same issue, here are other things to consider:

    – It uses predictive text instead of classic T9 typing. i.e. you don’t press the same key multiple times to change the letter. You press one key for every letter in the word you’re trying to type, and the phone will guess which word you are trying to type. If you want, you can select “New word” and then do the manual T9 typing like it used to be. I think both options are good (predictive and manual), but I wish the phone had an option to use one or the other. You are forced to use predictive typing.

    – The font is large and I don’t believe you can change the size. On some screens, e.g. when sending a text message, the font is large enough that the “options” text on the bottom clips part of the word, meaning you can’t read the full word. This feels really lazy, because given how simple the phone is, it should be easy to design it such that your text is not getting cut off.

    – There is no app for internet, so you can’t use it in a pinch even if you wanted to.

    – The flashlight is pretty handy. You just hold 0 on the keypad (even if the phone is locked) and it will turn on the flashlight.

I would say it’s an okay backup phone, but I wouldn’t use it as a primary device, even for the elderly. I also think it’s a bit overpriced.

I got this phone mainly because I work near water and wanted something cheap to avoid damaging my regular phone. It’s been working great for calls and texts, and I had no problem getting it to work with my phone carrier once I put my SIM card in. Navigating through the menus was easy, and the phone is simple to use, which is perfect for work. It doesn’t have any social media apps, which was a bit of a letdown since I do use those to chat with coworkers, but at least I can make calls and send texts without worrying about getting my good phone wet. I also like that there’s a music player so I can listen to my favourite songs while working. Overall, this phone has been great for work and doesn’t make me worry too much about it getting damaged.

I tried out the AGM M9 rugged phone through the Vine program.  I like the big buttons and the large text on this phone.  This is a great phone for simply calling or texting.  If you’re looking for a phone with Wi-Fi, this is not the phone for you.  I found the volume loud, and the speed dial was easy to set up.  As to being “rugged,” I found this lightweight. I did drop this about 2 feet, and it did not break, but I’m not sure I would call it rugged.  It does have a decent dustproof and waterproof rating.  At the time of this review, it was selling for $59.49, which is a decent price.  Overall, I would rate it a 4 out of 5.

This phone is as basic as they come. It’s all plastic, little thick, and does not have a touch screen or wifi.
Some nice features are removable battery, flash light, Bluetooth, and basic camera.
    I wouldn’t call it rugged.
You have some built in apps like calendar, calculator and world clock.
I would use this as a backup or for anyone who only wants to call and text.
